Brendan Marr is the principal solicitor of Magnetic Legal. Admitted in 2007 and holding an unrestricted principal practising certificate, he has spent close to two decades practising law in Townsville — acting for local families, injured workers and people facing court through the moments that reshape a life.

A James Cook University law graduate, Brendan built his career in two of Townsville’s established firms — starting at Connolly Suthers and going on to become a partner at Mobbs & Marr Legal — before establishing Magnetic Legal to practise law the way he believes it should be done: clear, honest and genuinely local.

He acts across family law, criminal law, and personal injury and compensation, and guides clients through WorkCover claims. He is also an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner — accredited in both property and parenting matters, and qualified to issue section 60I certificates — so separating couples can attempt mediation without going outside the firm. Whatever the matter, his approach is the same: tell people the truth about where they stand, protect what matters most, and find the shortest sensible path to resolution.
